Sydney Olympic Park
Sydney Olympic Park is located 17 kilometres to the west of central Sydney or approximately a 20-30 minute scenic journey by car or public transport.
When you arrive, the first thing you'll notice is its size. It's massive.
Home to the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Olympic Park has become a major drawcard for many sporting events such as the Rugby World Cup and Australia's Rugby League Grand Finals.
Sydney certainly set the benchmark for sporting facilities with the 2000 Olympics.
Telstra (Olympic) stadium, Aquatic Centre, Sydney Superdome, Olympic Park Hockey Stadium, Athletic Centre and the Sydney Tennis Centre are all world class facilities and they're all open to the public.
Not only that, but you'll also find 400 hectares of surrounding parkland with 35 kilometres of bicycle pathways. Grab a bike and explore Olympic Boulevard which connects most of the venues and you can also have an audio tour as well.
Sydney's Olympic Park is also home to many cultural events including festivals, concerts and the iconic Royal Easter Show.
There is so much to see and do at Olympic Park that you'll have trouble fitting it all into one day. But don't worry about missing anything because there is a wide range of accommodation available as well. Enjoy!
